Read more: Dinwiddie approves hybrid return to school Meals for students who have elected the fully virtual option will pick up meals at their school on Wednesdays. Students will be given take-home meals for virtual school days as they leave the school building on in-person class days. Breakfast will be pre-packaged, while students will have their choice of a hot or cold option for lunch. All in-school meals will be eaten in classrooms, and students will be sent home with meals for virtual school days. Meals will be delivered to individual classrooms.Schools will have "Isolation rooms" to be used when students or staff show symptoms of COVID-19 while in school.Parents and guardians are required to conduct a daily health screening of their child before students report to school. Parents will be expected to "ensure" that their child does not have a fever or display any other symptoms of COVID-19, and that the child has not been exposed to someone with COVID-19, before sending them to school each day.Students and staff will be given cloth-masks in advance, and disposable masks will be given to student or staff member that arrive to school without a mask.Students will be socially distanced by three to six feet, though, "there may be instances in which this cannot be achieved." Families are encouraged to transport students themselves where possible. Busses will transport 20-30 students at a time, with face masks required. Busses may have to make multiple trips to deliver all students to school.Masks are required, "if social distancing is not possible." Teachers and staff will be required to wear masks and face shields if they need interact with students within a six-foot distance. Both students and staff will be required to wear face coverings while on busses or in school. Exceptions will be made for students and staff that are medically exempt from wearing face masks.Families can also drive to and park near schools, the Dinwiddie Government Center, Eastside Community Enhancement Center, McKenney Gym (front lot) and the Robert and Betty Ragsdale Community Center (front lot) to access wifi service. DCPS says that an estimated 60% of Dinwiddie County families do not have reliable internet access. 80 busses have been outfitted to deliver wifi internet service, and will be placed during the school day in "blackout" areas where internet access is limited.For specific information on Chromebook pickup, visit DCPS' website at this link. DCPS will provide Chromebooks to all K-12 students. Families will pick up Chromebooks on August 26 or 27."A" group students will attend virtual class on Tuesday and Friday, while the "B" group will attend virtually on Monday and Thursday. Students taking in-person classes will be split into two groups. The "A" group will attend in-person classes on Monday and Thursday, while the "B" group will attend in-person on Tuesday and Friday.Students will be allowed two options: "Distance Learning" or "Blended Learning." Distance Learning students will be full virtual, while Blended Learning students will attend in-person classes two days per week.Classes will take place Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
